Counseling

Counseling can help with anxiety, relationships, grief, big life changes, or just feeling stuck.

Is counseling right for me?

If you’re asking, probably yes. You don’t need a crisis or a diagnosis to benefit from therapy. Just a desire to feel better, understand yourself more, or work through some of life’s challenges.

Counseling Topics

Pregnancy

Pregnancy can be a time of hope and excitement for the future. It may also be accompanied by new or increased physical and emotional challenges. Our culture places a lot of pressure on pregnant women to “enjoy every moment,” but this pressure is both unfair and unrealistic. When pregnancy is unexpected, or different from the way you imagined it to be, therapy can be a place to find a listening ear and tools to help you be present in this experience, and be well-prepared for what’s to come.

Pregnancy Loss and Infant Loss

Few things in life are as painful as the loss of a child. No matter the time or the circumstances, many people are faced with unimaginable grief. Therapy can provide you a safe place to grieve, as well as the support you need to cope with the new challenges that arise after such a devastating loss.

Fertility Challenges

Fertility challenges can be a rollercoaster. Each month (or cycle) comes with a mixture of anxiety, fear, hope, anger and sadness. It is often a lonely journey, as many of the people you know seem to be able to get pregnant without any trouble. I promise, you are not alone. And although therapy won’t give you the baby you’ve been longing for, it can give you the tools to manage the myriad emotions and relationship struggles that are often part of the journey.

Postpartum

We often hear about the “Baby Blues.” When hormones are shifting and life has been turned upside-down, it’s not uncommon to experience some stress or sadness. But when it extends beyond those first couple of weeks, or when sadness turns to depression and stress turns to anxiety, it may be time to seek some help. Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders occur in 1 in 5 women and can be managed with the proper support.

Christian Faith Integration

Healing happens best when mind, body, and spirit are cared for together. For those who are interested, Stephanie integrates biblical truth and spiritual discernment, along with evidence-based therapeutic methods. She has a biblical counseling certificate from AACC and her own Christian faith and study to draw from. This is always optional. Never a requirement.
